We were 5 days there. In Las Vegas. This gigantic, turbulent game(er) town at the southwest corner of Nevada. At first we thought, what should we do here so many days (and nights)? But quickly we were taught a better one. There was no really lack of photo motifs. In truth we were confronted with two kind of a "Strip": The long, relatively new Strip with the Bellagios, Venetians, MGMs and Mirages of this world. And then the Strip of the old starting times of Downtown Las Vegas. Please do not skip the "Fremont Street Experience" part.
We love the neon signs of the passing times very much. You would only see them extremely rarely (f.e. in the "Neon Museum"). The LED-equipted, super-bright, super-colored and super-clear metres high presentation walls (as in New York) outdo, really illuminate everything. It is unbelievable that the hundreds of casinos are full from morning till night. Although there are no more "one-armed bandits", but computer-controlled machines. So again: A fantastic location for photographers. The people, the ubiquitous music, x-different evening shows and events with the current and aging stars and starlets. You do not have to starve (for expensive money by the way: 1 beer is not under 8 USD, Spaghetti Carbonara for 28 USD ....).
By the way there was still a part of the so-called "18 b Arts District" with fantastic house wall graffiti in Downtown. But it will probably be demolished. But at this time there were still many artists and exciting art and antiques shops.
